midterm blues

This past week was the 5th week of Carleton’s 10-week spring term, infamous as the “midterm” time when exams and papers reign supreme. For me, it actually started during 4th week, and was made worse by a toothache. Here’s a sampling of what I had to do and suffer:

happy new year

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

Today is the first day, the first of the month of Baisakh, of the Bikram era year 2062. Nava Varsha 2062 ko upalakshya ma dherai dherai shubhakamana. Happy new year to everyone! May this year bring joy, prosperity, progress and a lot of money to everyone in Nepal.
Update 4/15/2005: Apparently, the Bikram era needs some […]

new look

Monday, April 11th, 2005

As you will notice if you have looked at my site before, I have changed the design. The WordPress theme I am using now is called Jakarta. I think it looks pretty good and it has nifty buttons on the top right corner to increase or decreast font size, align text and so on. I […]

cs: counter-strike?

Sunday, April 10th, 2005

As of 8th April 2005, I am officially a CS major. The Buddha, however, said that change is the only unchanging thing, so who knows what tomorrow will bring?

After months of hard work, Carleton sophomores George Kachergis, Jamie Olson, AJ Reiter and freshman Adam Steege of the Carleton Robotics Club are traveling today to Connecticut to participate in the 12th Annual International Fire Fighting Robot Contest with their trusty robot, tentatively called Warren Peace for various internal reasons. I wish them all the […]

spring break 2005

Monday, April 4th, 2005

From 15th to 27th March, I went on a Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge trip to Greeley, Colorado. Although the break was 10 days long, we actually spent only 4 days working on site. We spent 3 days at the beginning of the break travelling to and staying at Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and 3 […]

guitar

Sunday, March 27th, 2005

On March 7th, I performed a short piece, Andante in Am by Matteo Carcassi, at the Carleton students guitar recital.
Student Guitar Recital
There were around 30 people present, including other performers, and though the atmosphere was very relaxed, I was slightly nervous, it being the first time I performed anything on stage. I think it went […]

alpha

Thursday, March 10th, 2005

I finally got around to installing Wordpress on my Gridley account, so this starts. I don’t know how much or how little I will post here, but for now, I intend to make this a place for my coursework and other things I do and a way to keep my family and friends updated with […]
